Project Description:    Remodel of public area lobby and laundry rooms of 2 buildings and leasing office.  Remodel of recreation center with 800 sq. ft. pool and spa in 2200 sq. ft. room and adjacent 3200 sq. ft. exercise area.</p>
<p>Services Provided:    Gehring &amp; Associates developed mechanical and electrical construction documents for energy efficient lighting replacement and upgraded an existing pool room make-up air unit. The pool area was under great disrepair and high levels of condensation and corrosion existed.  The replacement pool unit was reengineered to a more suited energy recovery dehumidification unit and exhaust unit all fitted within an existing confined space penthouse with an outdoor air-cooled condenser.</p>

<p>Project Description:    Mechanical and electrical engineering of Geothermal Heat Pump Design and Installation for 4,600 sf new residential construction.</p>
<p>Services Provided:    Created construction documents for pursuit of pilot LEED Homes platinum certification.  Project managed the geothermal loop field design and installation by a licensed drilling subcontractor.  System includes geothermal heat pump to provide radiant floor heating and forced air cooling from 2 units for 3 separate floors.  Domestic water system is heated from use of a desuperheater of geothermal heat-pump and further boosted with an Air –Tap heat pump.  No fossil fuels are utilized in this demonstration home other than the fireplace. House includes 13KW PV solar system to be considered net zero and carbon neutral.</p>

This 9 building complex has a gas fired boiler system for each building, which heats the domestic hot water system and building. Each unit can either be heated by radiant floor or baseboard heat, depending on the owners&#8217; upgrades. The system is also designed to accommodate future hot water solar panels with a drainback system, and hot water storage is available in the basement of the mechanical room. The Community house is equipped with a commercial kitchen and guesthouse facilities serviced by a gas-fired combination boiler &amp; domestic hot water serving a hot water baseboard system.</p>
